It was an OK camera in its time, but cannot be compared to the cheapest model of today.
The Olympus Camedia 2000 was launched in 1999. It used SmartMedia memory cards, which have now gone the way of the dodo.
The user could set an aperture or shutter speed; but as Adam notes, not both at the same time as the camera had no manual mode.
In its day it was known for producing good quality images, due in no small part to the large-ish lens.
