Happy New Year from Belleville, Ontario, Canada! Our temperature today peaked at about 8 degrees F, or -13 C, so was a somewhat chilly expedition to find a photo.
I am very interested in photography, and got a new camera for Christmas. As I knew so little about the terminology in the manual, I immediately headed to the internet for help and came across this wonderful website.
My picture was taken on the Bay of Quinte, a large bay off of Lake Ontario.
Usually, there are one or two duck pairs that stay the winter, but much to my surprise, there was an entire flock to be photographed. We are very lucky here to have beautiful shoreline walkways throughout the city (we have the Moira River as well as the bay),and you can usually see Canada geese or mallards along the trails.
Best Wishes to everyone for a happy and healthy 2009!
