The Canon PowerShot A400 was launched towards the end of 2004.
One of the neat features of the camera (and, indeed, many cameras at the time) was the use of humble AA batteries to power it. If you ran out of power whilst out shooting, any AA batteries could be bought and used (although, unless they were lithium AAs, they tended to run out pretty quickly)
It had many different modes, but no aperture priority or shutter priority modes. All in all, it was a good introductory camera for the digital photographer.
